Hey me. Since I'm the only one that's probably going to read this, I'll just address it to myself. Congratulations, you are now fat. It's been a long time coming, but you knew this day would inevitably come. Other people told you that one day, your metabolism would slow down, and you would no longer be able to eat a whole pizza without putting on a few pounds, but you didn't believe them. Well guess what. They were right this whole time.
I know there's probably about 50 billion blogs out there about people trying to lose weight, so you're probably wondering what's going to be different about mine. Absolutely nothing. Well, except for the fact that I will be playing a "fitness game" while trying to get in shape. I recently became a member of www.fitocracy.com. It's a website where you can level up and score achievements for your various fitness activities. I thought it might be a fun way to motivate me to wake up in the morning and work out. As of right now, I have tracked no activities with this site, so I am starting out at Level 1.
My goal is to eat right and work out everyday over the coming months to turn me into a macho man of manliness. I plan on recording my measurements and posting them every Sunday here on out. Let's hope I can stick to that.
To start off, let me tell you a little bit about my current habits. I'm 26 years old. I work out about, on average, once a month. I eat anything and everything I want. Often, I will find myself, as mentioned earlier, eating an entire pizza by myself. As I have become more conscious of myself gaining weight, I have observed that I am more likely to eat because I am craving the taste of something, rather than eat because I am actually hungry. A habit I hope to break. I drink about 5-6 cans of soda a day. I rarely ever drink water. I don't smoke or drink alcohol, so at least there's that. Overall, I am becoming a fat slob.
My main reason for creating this blog is to help keep me on track. I believe that if people actually read this, it will be harder for me to cheat as I plan on being completely honest with this blog. I plan on working out every day except for Sunday. For this first week, I am going to try eating nothing but eggs, broccoli, chicken, and yogurt. I will drink nothing but water. Later, I will not only post my starting measurements, but I will also post nutritional information for this week's diet. As I love to eat, I believe sticking to the diet will be the hardest thing for me. Also, I haven't come up with a workout plan yet, although I plan on having one by the end of the day.
If you're reading this, thanks.
